The Fairfax historical archive covers the growth of Australia from British colony through to Australia's position today as a proud, independent and prosperous nation. Our exclusive pictures range from Australia's greatest sportsman Sir Donald Bradman to Phar Lap, from the MCG to the building of the Sydney Opera House and from trams to the monorail.
